There were not many details to be seen on Mars, as the areas of Tharsis
and Amazonis were turned toward us. Mars Acidalium and Lunae Lacus were
about to disappear behind the limb. A bright patch was seen over Tempe and
Arcadia, and the darker Mare Boreum was seen bordering the North Polar Cap.
Some alternating darker and lighter streaks were seen in Arcadia and Tractus
Albus, with Tharsis and Amazonis being almost white. Mare Sirenum and Aonius
Sinus were quite faint. Larger clouds were seen over Xanthe, and Scandia
and Zephyria on the morning limb.
