Sinus Sabaeus was on the Central Meridian, with
Syrtis Major already a bit past it, and Sinus Meridiani had just come into
sight. Mare Acidalium in the North was also coming into view, and appeared
partially obscured by a large morning fog or haze along the limb of Mars.
This fog probably is centered over Chryse and Mare Erythraeum.
Hellas appeared extremely bright, whatever the cause might be. This was
also clearly noticed with an orange filter, but appeared even brighter in
blue. On the evening limb, Libya appeared bright, and Mare Serpentis was
also seen reaching towards the South.
In the North, Ismenius Lacus and Protonilus were seen running from Mare
Acidalium and connecting with Casius and Utopia.
The area of Arabia and Moab appeared "rough", not completely white.
Seeing was generally good.
