LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

There is one aspect of Mars exploration that remains relatively undiscovered by most people: the enormous educational power that it possesses.

As we have striven to show in this publication again and again, Mars exerts a strong fascination for humans. It is the only planet in the solar system where we can ever hope to live in something like our natural state. And as such, we want to know everything we can about it. Questions flow from this interest because it is so plausible that we will go to Mars some day in person.

This natural questioning opens the door for broader teaching and learning about the other planets, the solar system in general, and even to our own environment and the future of our planet. Mars can be seen in educational terms as a wide platform on which we can lay many questions and have a real hope they will be answered.

So, come along once again as we delve into another facet of Mars exploration. Bring your questions!
