JPL Employees Honored by Their Peers

David Dubov

Every month the Mars Exploration Program Office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory honors those employees who have made a significant contribution to the work of sending spacecraft to Mars. Listed below are the "Martians of the Month" to date.

Greg Hickey (November/December 1994)

Greg led the fabrication team that built a lightweight structure for the Mars Pathfinder microrover called the Warm Electronics Box (WEB), which integrates the structure with the thermal insulation and protects the electronics and batteries from the frigid Martian nights.

Dan Johnston (January 1995)

Martin "Dan" Johnston has provided outstanding and responsible support of the Mars Global Surveyor's mission design team, particularly the trajectory analysis efforts, the launch period determination process, and the spacecraft mass calculations. Dan's efforts in support of the mission design team have helped keep the team on track for the Project's November 1996 launch.

Pamela K. Yoshioka (February 1995)

Pamela Yoshioka developed the Uplink and Sequencing modules of the AIM (Attitude and Information Management) subsystem flight software and also serves as the flight software integration engineer for the AIM subsystem on the Mars Pathfinder mission. She is responsible for incorporating all of the flight software modules prepared by the AIM Flight Software Team into the final flight software load image. Pamela has worked tirelessly on this task to ensure quality and timeliness in this vital part of the Mars Pathfinder mission.

Wayne P. Sidney (March 1995)

The work that led to Wayne Sidney's recognition is described in his article in this issue.
