Overview of APXS Measurements as of 28-OCT-98

8 rocks were measured by the APXS, and one (Half Dome) was measured in two places, for a total of 9 APXS rock measurements. The 8 rocks measured are:

 Barnacle Bill
 Yogi
 Wedge
 Shark
 Half Dome (in two places)
 Moe
 Stimpy
 Chimp

So far, the only measurements that have been converted to chemical composition are the ones obtained before the rover battery died, when the APXS X-ray spectra had good signal-to-noise ratio:

 Barnacle Bill
 Yogi
 Wedge
 Shark
 Half Dome (first location)

These are reported in Rieder et al., 1997, Science vol. 278, pp. 1771-1774:

In addition, we are unsure whether "Scooby Doo" is a hard soil or rock. An APXS measurement was taken of Scooby Doo, and the chemistry is similar to that of the other soils. If Scooby Doo is a soil, then 7 Mars soil measurements were made by the APXS.
